Blackbaud Security Incident
Loaves & Fishes was recently informed of a data security incident by one of our third-party service providers, Blackbaud. Blackbaud is one of the world’s largest providers of constituent relationship management systems, providing donor record-keeping for hundreds of foundations, health care organizations and non-profit institutions and organizations around the world.
Information that may have been available to the intruders includes publicly available information such as names, mailing addresses, birthdays, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses, as well as giving history. We want you to know that, as a best practice, Loaves & Fishes does not ever store donors’ credit card or banking information in our database nor do we collect social security numbers, so this information could not have been compromised and should not create any vulnerabilities for you.
Loaves & Fishes takes the security of your information seriously. We do not believe it is necessary to take any further action at this time, but we want you to be aware of this development. We are monitoring this situation and deeply regret any inconvenience.
We have been advised by Blackbaud that based on the nature of the incident, their research, and third party (including law enforcement) investigation, Blackbaud has no reason to believe that any data went beyond the cybercriminal, was or will be misused, or will be disseminated or otherwise made available publicly. Blackbaud has implemented changes to protect your data. Blackbaud has posted more information here.
