What does A “Stay-At-Home” Order Mean for Serving Our Neighbors In Need?
Mecklenburg Co. has issued a stay-at-home order through April 16. Under this order, county residents may visit grocery stores, pharmacies, healthcare providers if needed and pick up food from a Loaves & Fishes distribution site. Governor Roy Cooper has designated charitable food distribution sites essential services and our volunteers exempt. Our Pantries and mobile sites will remain open, staff and volunteers will be allowed to distribute food boxes “drive-through” style and referred clients will continue to be able to pick up food. If a client is unable to leave their homes, a family member, social worker or friend can pick up their food for them.
Loaves & Fishes remains steadfast in our mission to feed our hungry neighbors in need throughout this crisis.
