YOU are the magic and the miracle behind Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays.  It’s been a long record breaking year for us with not the kind of records we want to be breaking. Through October we have already served more individuals than we served in ALL of 2022.  And things certainly aren’t slowing down.

Thanksgiving turkey distributions began Monday, November 13th and continued with a Pop Up Food Share turkey distribution at our warehouse on Wednesday afternoon.

Each number below represents a neighbor, like Cathy and Charles pictured above, who will have a full plate this holiday thanks to your generous support.

• 5,504 individuals  (1,890 children, 2,981 adults, 633 seniors) received a week’s worth of groceries, as well as a turkey and fixings through our brick-and-mortar pantries, mobile food pharmacies and grocery home deliveries. (21% more than last year)
• 4,719 individuals  were served turkeys, holiday fixings and extra produce through our Thanksgiving Pop Up Food Shares. (64% more than last year’s Thanksgiving Pop Up Food Shares)
• 450 recipients  were served through regular daily Meals on Wheels delivery, provided meal recipients with 40 cornucopia turkey vouchers and delivered to over 100 recipients who needed an additional holiday meal.

In addition to food, we provide friendship, dignity and hope. That love was on full display to the 6,199 calls our team fielded in the 8 days leading up to Thanksgiving!

The world can seem like a dark place and our problems seem insurmountable at times.  We can’t fix everything but we can start by feeding someone and showering them with kindness, love and dignity.
