In the Month of March We Celebrate March for Meals!

The annual March for Meals celebration commemorates the historic day in 1972 when a national nutrition program for seniors was added to the Older Americans Act.

Right here in Mecklenburg Co., Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays depends on dozens of volunteers to deliver midday meals to the homes of over 400 recipients each and every weekday. In 2022, volunteers delivered over 133,000 prepared meals, an increase of 18%.
